Elope in Tas is for the couple who wants a very simple, but still meaningful elopement to start their married life.
Making your wedding day just about the two of you (and two or more of your special witnesses) Elope in Tas provides advice on locations and an Authorised Celebrant, who will complete all of the legal paperwork with you, write a short and sweet ceremony for you, officiate on the day, register your marriage and order the Official Certificate from Births Deaths and Marriages for you.
Then we will cheer for you and toast you and send you off on your epic Tasmanian honeymoon once you have tied the knot!
At Elope in Tas, we have joined forces with some amazing photographers to combine an Elope in Tas - Ceremony and Photography package - The Ultimate.
This is our most sought after package, providing just the Celebrant for the legal stuff and to conduct your ceremony, and an amazing photographer to capture all of those wonderful moments for you forever.
We most often work with https://www.daniellivingsphotography.com.au (insta @daniel_livings_photography) or https://www.martyaphotography.com.au (insta @martyaphotography)
However, if you need other vendors or services such as hair and make up, florist, caterer/private chef, accommodation etc., we will point you in the right direction! 🍃
Where do we even begin… We couldn’t recommend Natalie more and are not surprised at all that she won the #1 Winner Wedding Industry Award.
From the moment we got into contact with her, we fell in love with how much we could tell she truly cared about us and her dedication to what she does. She was prompt in responding to every question, accomodating to our requests and detailed in any information she provided, which was very helpful as we had limited knowledge of Launceston. She gave us plenty of perspective in all the different beautiful spots to marry here and we ended up choosing to marry at The Cataract Gorge.
Our wedding day was the most special day and we know it couldn’t have happened without Natalie and her team, including the very talented photographer, Marty Ashford, who took the most jaw dropping photos and captured our day perfectly.
With 2 kids in tow, the chaos of getting all of us ready was eased instantly by the calm, patient and kind nature of Natalie and husband, Ross, which is exactly what anyone needs on their wedding day.
We had also been trying to figure out how we would film our ceremony, but Ross was kind enough to do that for us, which was extremely helpful and eliminated all of the stress in how we would do it. We will hold that video dear to us forever.
If you’re looking to Elope in Tas, you definitely will not regret choosing Natalie. We’re forever grateful for her and everyone for making our special day absolutely perfect.
Thank you again Natalie x
5 STAR GOOGLE REVIEW - Natalie Freeman Marriage Celebrant
Natalie and her husband Ross are the most lovely and down to earth people you'll ever meet. We are so glad to have chosen to elope, and to Elope in Tas with Natalie. We couldn't have chosen a more perfect place, or a more perfect person to plan, officiate and share our wedding with. Elopement really gave us a chance to focus just on us, and Tasmania is such a beautiful, surreal and idyllic place to get married.
Our wedding day was perfect, with everything going according to plan for our 'itty bitty' Valentine's Day wedding atop Mt. Wellington, Hobart. The location was absolutely stunning, the weather was beautiful, and our ceremony was perfectly intimate, short and sweet (which was ideal for us as a shy and introverted couple).
After scouting the internet and contacting a few wedding celebrants, Natalie was a quick and easy decision because of her friendly and postive vibes. Natalie really took all of the stress out of everything, from handling all the paperwork, to helping us select the perfect location, providing transportation, conducting the ceremony itself, and everything else in between. She was so attentive, supportive and flexible every step of the way.
We visited Hobart from Sydney on a short stop-over as part of a Disney Cruise. Coming from interstate, we had no knowledge of the area and little idea of how we even wanted our wedding to be. We initially considered typical romantic settings such as the beach, park or garden, to which Natalie presented a few considerations; but she and Ross spontaneously suggested the amazing idea of getting married atop Mt. Wellington for its spectacular views and possibility of seeing our cruise ship from afar (which was extremely thoughtful). This instantly piqued our interest and ultimately became our location of choice.
Our wedding day was seamless. Natalie and her husband collected us from the port (welcoming us with a big smile and a hug which took away all our nerves), took us to our wedding location, wed us, waited while we had our photoshoot, then transported us back to a location of our choosing; plus provided us with lovely conversation and nice little anecdotes about Tasmania along the way. For people we had only met that day, it felt like we were already friends, and it was sad to say goodbye even only after couple of hours.
As we made our way back to our cruise ship, we couldn't have been happier feeling that our day couldn't have gone any better, thanks to Natalie. Now 2 weeks later, we still reminisce fondly on our wedding day, as I'm sure we will for the rest of our lives.
We strongly recommend eloping in Tasmania, but most of all, Elope in Tas with Natalie.

5 STAR GOOGLE REVIEW - Natalie Freeman Marriage Celebrant
The big beautiful wedding with all the bells, whistles and finery can be an amazing way to start your married life and celebrate with all of your friends and family!
But this style of wedding ceremony is definitely not for everyone (or within everyone's budget!).
Whether you are a local wanting a small intimate wedding, or a traveller looking for a destination wedding, maybe you are introverted and shy, or simply have too many family and friends to consider including them all in your wedding day...
Whatever your situation, below are just a few reasons why eloping in Tasmania might be the most magical and meaningful way to kick off both your married life AND your epic honeymoon!
Please email us directly if you cannot find the answer to your question below!
Yay! We know that for many couples eloping is the absolutely perfect way for their married life to begin. First off we need time to get your legal document prepared and lodged, as you cannot marry until one month after the Notice of Intended Marriage is submitted with your Celebrant.
We will help you get this sorted - you just need to have your identification documents (EITHER a passport OR a birth certificate and photo ID such as a drivers licence) and proof of the end of a previous marriage if applicable.
Then once that is done we can lock in your date and give you advice on how to get the best out of your Tassie honeymoon depending on your interests and time available.
Yes for sure! While Elope in Tas specialises in simple ceremonies only, and provides you with the Celebrant, and two witnesses if you need them, we are happy to provide recommendations to you so you can contact other vendors directly to enquire if they are available on your date and at your chosen location.
(Note: Any undertakings with other vendors are separate to the fee you pay Elope in Tas to officiate and register your marriage. The only collaborations we offer are with photographers).
HOWEVER, if you want a more glamorous elopement with more inclusions than we offer, there are some absolutely wonderful wedding planning businesses in Tasmania who can take care of all these additional options for you in their packages, and we are more than happy to put you in touch with them if that is more your style.
Totally! You can have up to twenty people attend an elopement. Eloping is definitely not the 'just the two of you secretly running off' caper that it was known as in the past.
With larger numbers your choice of venue may be a little more limited, and you will have to make other considerations such as accommodation, food, travel etc for your guests, but your elopement package with us remains otherwise the same.
Elope in Tas can be the perfect way to start off your wedding day if you live locally too - have your intimate and gorgeous ceremony with your selected few, bask in the newly wedded bliss on your own for a while, and then head off to your reception later in the day!
If you don't have an exact location in mind, we can give you plenty of options to choose from, and a local's perspective of pros and cons for each. Your ceremony location may also depend on where you intend to travel afterwards as well (and if it is only the two of you or if you also have guests to consider). We can give you some advice on how to manage your time best for the remainder of your honeymoon and see the most of what our gorgeous island state has to offer.
Tasmania is rich in scenic diversity - choosing your venue may decide on your personal interests - we have it all - rolling green pastures, golden beaches, rivers and lakes, majestic mountains, beautiful parks and gardens, trains and boats - the list goes on.
When you enquire we can chat about the location that will suit you both best.
The basic cost of an elopement with Elope in Tas starts from as little as $550.00 (for the most simple of 'legals only' ceremonies) on a weekday, and up to $1,500.00 on a weekend or public holiday depending on your ceremony location.
This amount covers the preparation and lodgement of all the required legal paperwork by an Authorised Celebrant, as well as registering your marriage with Births, Deaths and Marriages Tasmania. It includes Zoom or in person meetings where possible, preparation of a simple but personalised wedding ceremony and officiating on the day.
The above fee also covers the ordering of the Official Marriage Certificate (which saves you around $62.00).
Any other vendors you may wish to have involved in your day are hired at your own cost. We can however include the cost of the photographer if you choose our Ultimate Package.
